Join us if you would like to have a respectful, constructive discussion about Israel and Palestine, and are open to learning from fellow congregants whose views may differ from yours. Our focus will be on curiosity, active listening, and exploring different perspectives on this complex issue. This five-session Isaiah Circle is designed to provide a safe environment in which Temple members can share their concerns, hopes, fears, convictions, and questions about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Accessibility: Level entrance, no stairs. Location: Outdoors at Temple Isaiah (weather permitting) otherwise on Zoom. It is hoped that Circle members will use the information provided in our sessions to begin actively exploring their own ancestors’ past, so they can share their finds with our Circle at subsequent sessions.

Circle members will be provided information about the best online genealogy research sites, both those that are free and those membership-based. A special session on Holocaust records will also be held. Other topics will include cemetery records and gravestone readings, DNA testing, and the proper creation and use of family trees and reports. School records, public newspapers, city directories, and other “unofficial” sources will also be explored.

Circle members will learn how to find and use vital records, census records, immigration, naturalization, and military records, both here in the US and abroad. “This Circle is for Temple members interested in learning how to explore their families’ past. The week of August 29, we will publicize any open spots and will offer the chance to register for a second Isaiah Circle. Please check your calendar and only register if you can make all or most of the meetings.

You can tell a group is full when there are no more available spots. If your first choice is full, we also recommend you choose another Circle, as many Circles stay full and do not open their waitlists. Important information to know before you sign up: Last year, some Circles filled in the first few hours, so register as soon as you can. Registration begins Monday, August 15 at 9am. Review all the options and choose a few favorites. All our Circles are led by fellow congregants, trained to lead a group where all members are heard and appreciated.Īll Isaiah Circles information is below. There are Circles meeting weekly, bimonthly and monthly, and during the weekday, in the evening and on Sundays too. We will have Circles at Temple, in congregant’s homes, around the Bay Area, and on Zoom.


Most are kept small, so people can really get to know each other. Join with your Temple Isaiah community for small group connection, learning and fun! Isaiah Circles are returning this fall with 21 Circles to choose from.
